Please join your new President Laurel and Past-President Louise for a hike in Hockley Valley. We will hike the blue loops shown as dashed lines on the map below (Tom East, Isabel East, Cam Snell) heading north, and the white trail (shown as a solid red line) heading south back to our cars.
The hike will be 14 km long, and take approximately 4-5 hours. There are many hills here, so it's not for the faint of heart. You must be fit; this is not a good hike for anyone who has been sedentary over the winter. The pace will be approximately 3.5-4 km/hour.
Please arrive at least 15 minutes before the hike start time.
If participants want a slower and shorter hike and someone else is willing to lead that, it can be arranged. Please email Louise at langlaislouise@gmail.com if you want to volunteer to lead a less ambitious hike. If we have two groups, we will all start out together, but the "short hike" group will return on their own.
Please bring 1-2 litres of water, snacks, a lunch, and a personal first aid kit. Wear hiking boots, quick-dry clothes, and have rain gear in case it rains.
