The Five Winds President Day Hike will visit Lynde Shores Conservation Area. Established in 1972, the 272-hectare Lynde Shores Conservation Area, together with the adjacent Cranberry West Tract (40 hectares) is well known for its wildlife viewing opportunities. The area provides excellent habitat for nesting birds and acts as an important stopover point for waterfowl and shorebirds migrating along the north shore of Lake

The day hike will be roughly 4-5 km, 2-3 hours of hiking at a modest pace, with breaks and lunch making up the rest of the time. Bring your lunch. We plan to walk to Lake Ontario for lunch on the beach.
No car to get there? No problem. You can take the GO TRAIN to the Whitby station. Get off on south side of the station and let me know and I'll pick you up. Leave Union at 8:43 PM (Sunday) - arrive in Whitby at 9:33 PM.
