Mushroom Foray and Wilderness Hike in Muskoka and McCrae Lake
Led by Amish Morrell, Diane Borsato, with hiking group leaders from Five Winds.
Sunday September 28, 2025This exciting foray and hike at McCrae Lake will provide an opportunity to gather, identify, and learn more about wild mushrooms that grow in the Georgian Bay region. The foray will be led by OCAD University professor Amish Morrell, and artist and professor Diane Borsato. Diane is author of Mushrooming: The Joy of the Quiet Hunt and both Amish and Diane are editors of the book, Outdoor School: Contemporary Environmental Art. Participants will also get a chance to hike on wilderness trails along the edge of beautiful McCrae Lake and Georgian Bay. This is an activity of Five Winds, with additional participants from OCAD University, including faculty, staff, and students interested in mycology, sustainability and climate change, and environmental art. |
This is an all-day event, with a coach bus from Toronto. This event is supported by the Global Centre for Climate Action at OCAD University. Registration fee to cover bus expenses:

What do bring:
Note: The trails are not conducive to sandals or Crocs. Footwear should be at a bare minimum good running shoes but it is highly recommended to wear hiking boots or trail shoes. |
